    No number plate light?

    [IMG][/IMG]

I have had my number plate recessed into the bumper ...but there is NO room for a conventional number plate light, the recess is as deep as what u normally have on the front bumper! (cos its from the front!)

I bought some "Lite n' Bolt" jobbies from Demon Tweeks (£41! - a rip off) and they are horrible!
Basilcally bolts that go onto the number plate, with a bulb in them directed towards the plate. They stick out TOO much.

What do I do?? Can I get away with having NO number plate light at all ???

I mean the plate will show up when other car lights shine on it anyway...

Never been pulled for it, never been mentioned by pigs or MOT either.

A few years ago I got pulled and breathalized for having a blown numberplate bulb - so I assume you do need one.

Yes it is illegal to have no lights illuminating your numberplate, it can also fail an MOT if the testers are a bit picky.

Ultra brite LEDs in the top of the recess to illuminate it.

Do you want to sell those light bolts?

As nickyboy said, Ultra bright white LED's would do the trick

Yep, as nickyboy says. Use ultra bright LEDs, I am using 6x 1200mcd Yellow LEDs with a 30 degree light angle.

The light up the plate a treat, passed MOT fine and the police have no compliants.

Gander, I may sell them on ...for near the same price I paid, or I'm getting a refund from Demon Tweeks...

Anybody got any pics of using LEDS for the brake light PLEASE?

    Thanks
