right got started on the kit today, so heres my day in pics ........
the kit before i start .......
the rear bumper with those stupid reg plate lights removed !! the holes left by these will be getting filled and smoothed, and the origional number plate light holes in the top of the bumper will be getting opened up again .....
next it was time to cut out the number plate recess ready for it to be filled smooth. i have never seen so much glass-fibre be used on such a small thing, in some places it was nearly 1cm thick !! ......
heres the front of the bumper all prepped ready to be smoothed. the origional plan was to melt the bumper into the recess and smooth it that way, but the bumper wanted to make my life hard and decided that instead of melting together it would just boil and disintegrate, change of plan then - fibreglass it from the rear for strength and fill the front smooth .......
and heres the inside of the rear bumper prepped ready to be fibreglassed ...
and lastly here it is with its 1st bits of fibreglass to keep everythin solid and smooth. notice the use of bricks and screwdrivers during this process, these are used in part to provide stability while it dries and also to give the bum ...... oh what the hell im just too lazy to stand there and wait for it to dry so i used bricks to keep it in the right position ........
more work will be done tomorrow, and Kev - for cutting your bumper to pieces
