    Wheel bolt extensions

Hi, a mate of mine has a mk1 ford mondeo and has a set of team dynamics alloy wheels on it. The wheels are the right stud pattern, but because the standard bolts arent long enough we can only get the nuts on 5 turns.
The bolts stick out of the hub on the mondeo and you fit the nuts on the end, unlike a vauxhall where the bolts screw into the hub so there is no need for nuts.
Is there anyway you can get round this problem, or is it safe to have the nuts on with only 5 turns?

    Cheers,
    Jack.
