driving light / day time running

Have got a pear of “ring” ice blue round driving lights.
They run a 3H 55w bulb and I am looking to use them as day time running lights ( I have always wanted to own a Volvo ) in the destructions they are designed only to run with full beam.
I don’t want to dazzle every oncoming vehicle and annoy people for the hell of it.
    Any ideas on light dulling
Will get to hot to spray the bulb.
Have no access to lens to coat.
    Any ideas?

You really don't want to use those as daytime running lights. GM in the US is taking some flak for using high beams at 50% intensity as DRLs because they are too glaring.

Ideally the best solution would be to use proper DRLs. Hella makes a pair which meets EU regulations- check out http://www.hella.com/

Otherwise you could wire up your regular dipped headlights as DRLs, then you'd look just like a Volvo driver lmao
