I have just bought a corsa sport 1.4 16v in black!!
The bonnet had loadsa stone chips in it, so i went down to garage today to find out what they could do with it? They said they would have to do the bonnet and the wings so it all matches and quoted me £300!! this seems stupidly expensive to me!!
Ive been told its only £800 for a full car re-spray!!
Does anyone know where i could get my bonnet done cheaper, or where i could get a full re-spray in black for cheap,

Obviously they gonna blast over, but they have the chips etc to sort out first - and any deformations in you current panels!
I was quoted £450 just for a bodykit that i prepped. . . . .

Are the stone chips so severe it merits a full respray of bonnet?
i need to get my stone chips sorted too, so what to people make of companies such as chips away? How severe stone chips do they do andat what sort of cost?

yes i was thinkin of a carbon bonnet, but if its gonna cost same as re-spray, then id rather have a repsray!! if i can get a carbon bonnet for, say, £150, then il probs gewt one of them instead

you can get a new bonnet off ebay for about £60, would they do it alot cheaper as they wouldn't have to worry about sorting the stone chips and any rust etc.
Was quoted £700 on a cavalier, was a little surprised.

well i would do it for £150 but your miles away m8.. £300 is the going rate but i always try to under cut people to get the work...iv got a body shop in southampton if any ov you want any paint doing,,,,,,
depends how long it would take you to do, as if im down that way and you could get it done in a day then id consider it, but youd have to leave the paint to dry overnight, etc wouldnt you!?
on that point, is there any miggers who are sprayers in the north area, who would do it for me??

my mates saxo vtr got smashed up all pannals including roof its gerring all pulled out and resprayed for £700 thats both quaters doors wings and roof, ive been quoted £ 270quid for front end thats bonnet wings and bumpers prepped and painted.
my painter chargers £80 for the first panel then £40 for everyone after, he's a mazda main dealer contracted sprayer and restores classics for a hobby (he's got £600k of old rolls royces!) i think that's a lot of money for a bonnet.
Yes - but by you saying YOUR painter, you must chuck alot of work his way - so you get it cheaper!
