Its the SEH engine, miles better than the red top rubbish imo, revs better, fuel economy is better and insurance is miles cheaper
If I like it, I lick it. If I dont, I kick it
CAN NO LONGER GET TYRES, SORRY
watch out black ice slagging redtops thats a hanging offence round these here parts
Ta ta Vauxhall,
Helooo shexy focus ST
Dont give a crap, the red top is a good engine compaired with other manufacturers 2.0 16v lumps, but the SEH came along before the XE did and although it didnt like catalytic convertors, I've owned and driven cars powered by both and imo the SEH was by far a better engine. You never had to worry about porous heads or whether it had a coscast jobbie fitted, it was just 130bhp of torquey, well made mechanics
If I like it, I lick it. If I dont, I kick it

While we're going down that road, the NE was better still. Never got beat by same cars with SEH's in any of mine, and had the torque for the long ratio'd box, awesome for motorway.

A J-reg SRi could have a C20NE instead of a 20SEH. If it's got a CAT and a lambda sensor, it's 115bhp. Pretty sure all Cav SRis were insurance group 10 whether they had an 8v or a 16v.
My H-reg SRi 130bhp was a group 12
If I like it, I lick it. If I dont, I kick it

cheers people
