Different opinions i guess. You could have the same argument about 99% of all exterior mods, all comes down to personal preference and/or how it suits the car.

Standard mirrors were designed with the car in mind. Cup mirrors were designed to fit anything from a Datsun Cherry to a Golf VR6. Hence the reason, almost NIL suit them.

Well that could be a problem, you can see out of them... just not as much as standard mirrors. Why don't you get some and fit em and see how it goes. If you don't get on with them stick em on ebay or NovaLoad.
I bought a pile-o-**** VW Golf for £90 about 2 years ago for a runabout for a few months. It came with LED M3 mirrors. They use the same mirror glass as cup mirrors. Not just that, but the glass quality was awful. I'd feel more safe driving without brakes than without wing mirrors.
I couldn't see a fookin thing. Motorway driving almost had me crapping bricks. As soon as I'd gotten home, I took a foot to them and smashed them off in a fit of rage. Luckily the original mirrors were still in the boot and they went back on.
So not only do they look as nasty as Grotbags, but they serve no purpose what so ever.
