German Lights from EasyRob (failed MOT)

these lights i recieved from EasyRob, the half red half clear failed my MOT because they have no reflectors in and didnt come with any in the box.
i thought they were E-marked, like they were advertised as??
has anyone else had this problem with any of these lights?

    thanks

    Ben

Buy a couple of cheap little reflectors and stick them on for the mot.

yeah thats what i had to do, but thats not the point, they were advertised as e marked and they were described as MOT friendly but theyre clearly not??

the glue from the reflectors was bloody awkward to get off the bodywork too

Hmm. I'm honestly sorry dude ... I was told by the supplier that they would pass an MOT, they are "E" marked (you can see this on the outside lense in the corner), and my car passed its MOT with them on.

My bad dude, and consequently apologies

Being e-marked doesn't mean the lights have reflectors, (AFAIK) it just means that the lens is suitable for light emissions.

All aftermarket e-marked tail lights should include a couple of stick on reflectors for the MOT.

They don't need to be "permanently" fixed to the vehicle for the MOT - just tape them on, then whip them off once you've got the certificate.

no good having no reflectors if you park on a unlit road at night. rear end smash waiting to happen.

The rear numberplate should be reflective, but if I hit a car without rear reflectors I'd do my best to use it in my defence.

    Way too Fast :-/
Just as a comparison, all (uk spec) motorcycle rear lenses are e-marked but many dont have built in reflectors, hence usually additional one under the reg plate (on a standard m/c that is, many are removed straight away for aesthetics and then put back on mot time)
Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive, anyway.

Yeah without reflectors if you're hit during the hours of darkness this will be a factor of the crash, as would being parked opposed to the traffic, so I would sort something out.

Blue-tack some bike reflectors on for the MOT. Take them off afterwards. Big deal.

But they're aftermarket lights. There's not many out there that have built in reflectors.
