    Nova Clocks - Options

Well ive had a few sets in the nova now, and im always out to try and do something different...so

First Set: Mk2 SR Dials - not bright enough at night
Second Set: Digi Dash - bit dated and too common
Third Set: Cavalier GSi Dials - Nice and curvy, an arse to fit..

Quite awful pics, but you get the idea

They look very nice, a lot nicer than nova clocks.
I have a spare set of mk3 astra clocks hanging around as well, how hard was it to fit them?

There an absolute ball ache !!!
I've got some Cally Turbo clocks to go in my Nova, you've gotta chop a fair bit away from the back of the dash board for them to fit & you've gotta make a couple of brackets to hold the clocks in place then you've gotta trim the cover that goes over the top to the shape of the clocks.
They do look cool though !
Wirering ? not sure yet as i haven't had them connected up, take it its just a case of matching wire colours ? (i'm not to hot with wires !)

lol yea as he said - a ball ache....

Wiring is almost match for match, i had a digi dash in there before, so i found the Nova - Digi Dash Wiring, then Cav/Astra Mk3 Wiring - Digi Dash and worked it out from there....

It needs some work on the shroud top still, and to hold the front down i had to drill into the clocks to hold it back, but it all fits in and looks admirable

Any chance of some pics of what was cut/ removed from the dash? Or just clearer ones.

Have my old calibra clocks and would love to put them in wiring is fine but is it a case of cutting out bit by bit till it fits in?

How well does the cover/ shroud fit, as the pics unclear.
Sorry to drag up old threads but better than starting new

    Cheers

A couple of pics of how much to chop away from the dash !!

You've gotta make some kinda bracket to hold the clocks in place as well, not sure on the shroud yet as i'm still to finish mine.

Nah they do go in ... just !
I've had the dash & clocks all fitted up in the car & they fit ok just need to make the shroud fit better & sort the wiring, just another job to add to the list !

Carlton Digi dash looks cool as well, seen them pics ages ago, like the 3 dials where the heater controls were (stole that idea for mine )

Thought it was Just Senator's that had a digi dash (aswell as the GTE)? What Carlton is that from??

Really like the Cav clocks btw. I would never had imagined they would fit. Cant say I'm in a hurry to slice up my GSi dash though. Perhaps I'd better get a spare grey one & try it on that if I ever did want to convert.

I was thinking about Nova Dials in my Mk2 Cav Cause some have Oil Pressure and (I think ) Volts or amps? Only thing is Red Line would be wrong and only goes to 120.
If I buy a Cavalier Turbo and use it daily will it last forever ?
