The Mk1 Novas had a very dark grey carpet, but if you want it completely black, then I'd say the best bet is to get a couple of spray cans of matt black and spray it. It does work doing this, Simps on here sprayed bits of his carpet with matt black and it came out very well. He said it felt a bit coarse, but looked good none the less

Using fabric dye would be better than spraying it with paint,it would go rock hardlmao

I found a mk1 1.2 in a scrap yard not long ago, it had all brown dash and interior panels, and to my suprise it had a black carpet so im pretty sure there were/are a few novas knocking about with black carpets!

Cant remember what model the nova was though

There are a few about but only on the really old models so will more than likely be very worn and rarer than rocking horse doodaa.

Spraying them is fine. Feels a little coarse but who strokes their carpet? When it starts to wear thru - lash some more spray on!

    Done my shelf too:-

They did a ltd edition nova antibes which was a basic 1.2 with fancy seat covers etc.
They came in red, white,or blue, the white ones and the blue ones came with a blue carpet, the red ones came with a black carpet.
Finding one will be hard though,IIRC they were sold about 'D' reg,it took me ages to find a blue one for mine, luckily it wasnt worn much,it looked nearly new after i jet washed it clean.
    Good luck in finding one.
Alternatively, rather than spraying a carpet black,im sure you would get better results using black fabric dye on a grey carpet, there's thousands of grey carpets so you'll be able to source a good un-worn one.
