    dash question

    does anyone know if the plastic strip between the tweeters on a mk3 cav hatch is seperate? mines is cracked throught the middle (front to back) and i want to replace it and maybe even paint it too
    curiosity killed the cat...................but for a while i was a suspect!!

    It's a common problem on all cavs and callys, u usually get 3 cracks if left long enough. I'm pretty sure it can be removed separetely. (my tweeters are in the door but you are talking about the bit below the windscreen right?)

    yeah thats the one sid just under the screen

    heres a club calibra thread that show just how mant have this problem. But reading it, it seems to change it the dash has to come out a bit.

    Yes you can buy it from Vauxhall. I think it was about £20.
    You will need to undo the dashboard and pull it forward as the plastic bit has clips that go onto the dash and then it all gets pushed towards the windscreen.
    It can be done but it's not a 5 min job.

    Just had my dash re-trimmed and the plastic strip between the tweeters is attached to the main dash , to replace it you would have to replace the whole thing ( not advisable ) ........pure bugger to do !!!!!!
    Older , but not wiser !!

    That bit of trim is just glued. As you see from my post above it is changable and avalible from Vauxhall.
    The part number I think is G0090308997. May be some one could check thats the right part no as all it says on my reciept is 'MOULDING A'. It cost £33.10 plus Vat.
