    imho that wouldnt look nice

    why so low?

id imagine the sump would take a battering everytime u werent on the motorway, dont know what else would take a hit in the engine, but exhasut would surely take a thump or two aswell, casuing a lot of damage to the underside of ur car, and lot of strain on suspension system aswell?

I dropped my coupe a fair bit on my coilovers and found it was catching all the time, i've had to raise the front end up slightly now. Best not to go too far mate.

Why do you want to do that? Will make the car a complete pig to drive.

Yeah thats the good thing bout airbags - slam it on the deck when your parked up and then adjust accordingly when needed i.e. speed bumps etc

Whats the ride quality/handling like with airbags compared to your usual shocks and springs set up does anyone know

lol, My Calibra is lowered over 80mm on 19's and is fine... My mates Cav is lowered 110mm on 18's, my old Nova was 100mm front and 120mm Rear on Avo Coilovers and was fine and finally another mates 2.0 Corsa has just been lowered 90mm and is fine. All the springs (apart from my Nova Coilovers) were from www.coilsprings.co.uk who will make them as low as you want. Its total b*ll*cks when people say a car won't handle lower than 30 40 or even 60mm. I've done many track days and the Nurburgring twice (and so have the other cars i've mentioned) and I drive the car daily. Yes its bumpy on country roads as you'd imagine, but it doesn't mean I have to slow down. As long as you have decent shocks it'll be fine.

And no you won't need to raise your engine up. My Nova was running a 1.6 Turbo (181bhp) on standard driveshafts with a large front end drop and I never had a shaft pop out.

A lot of new cars come with airbags as standard.

New Range Rover does Im prett sure, and a lot of the big luxury saloons.

Think its fine for ride, but the handling prob isnt the most sporty. You keep normal dampers IIRC, only replace the springs with the airbags

In theorey the lower a car is, the lower the CoG (centre of gravity) and therefore the lower the effect of the inertia when cornering.

In practice it will skip over bumps in the dry and be sh1t scary in the wet! lmao

Sorry to hijack the thread, but does anyone know much about airbags and where you can get them from?
