    replacing rear arches

    been and got my Joggler

i've read alot on doing this your self

    Joggler laps the panel.
It presses a section from the edge away from the edge so it goes from this

    to this

Then you put the new section on the recessed bit and weld away.

When welding it on do i spot weld it by putting hole in the new arch panel and spotting to the resesed bit the fill the gap

    OR

do i weld along the whole lap and grind back and not fill

ANYHELP WOULD BE GREATFULLY RECIEVED BECAUSE I NEED TO ACT FAST BECAUSE IM GETTING MOVED OUT OF MY WORKSHOP VERY SOON LIKE IN A MONTH AND I STILL NEED TO FILL REST OF CAR AND SPRAY IT

    THANKS TIM

For strength, it'd be best to weld it all the way round.
Though you could put a few holes in it first to spot it, to hold it in place then weld round after if you wanted.

so better to weld right round then grind back rather than just spot and fill

you will see in the pic below i cut below the line it ruffley 7.5mm lower down to allow me to get the joggler in to create the lap joint.

Once completley cut out you can now lap the panels and spot it on just to hold it there ready for seam welding all the way along - ignore the pen marks on the arch panel i was going to join it ther but its much easier to fill a straight line than a curve

i was really pleased with the overal fitment of the arch lined up almost perfect.

ive since started to do the same on the otherside as you can see in the photo the other side is a bit more rusty

And finally a half decent pic of the fitment of the front lights
