    smoked headlights. how to?

im looking at smoking my astra's headlights. the question i want to ask is....
1: how do i get the casing off? Has a black bead running around the join.
2: what area should i spray?
3: what do i use to put the lights back together again

Car in question is a phase2 astra mk3.

Iv searched old threads but cant find anything.

    cheers

i always thought it was a case of buying new smoked headlights, then as well they can be changed if the MOT tester dont like them!

tbh, i'd just buy some, its less hassle. mine cost 52.99 off ebay for my corsa, inc p+p. if your gonna smoke them though don't spray the lenses, just the parts behind the bulbs, and the bottom section: from the back to the front, my friend used some plastic to do the bottom part, but i'd say they look better bought, and they will pass an MOT, where as if you do em urself and there is on the off chance some tint on the lense it will fail.

Heat the headlight up in an oven, black stuff goes soft.
Use approriate silicon sealant to close back up again.
One dog goes one way and the other goes the other.
And this guy's saying, "Whaddya want from me?"
