vauxhall centre caps, and lack of key to undo them!

i used the key to remove front wheels to change brake pads/disks last week, and i am positive i chucked it back in the boot with the jack and the wrench, yet today i came to remove the front to change a wheel bearing and i couldnt find it anywhere - even looked high and low in the garage, still no luck .

can i get a replacement key, or do i have to drill the lot out and buy a new set?

assuming the latter, do vauxhall sell just the bolts and a key? - how much?

    cheers, andrew

    You talking about these?

Maybe shouldn't be discussed on here as technically, it could be an aid to criminals. Anyway, a pair of long nose pliers and you should be able to get them off. You can't get replacement keys.

You need to buy a complete set. They are around 13 quid on TC from Vauxhall. I lost my key and wanted to replace the old bolts manky bolts with a new set.

to get the centre cap bolts off, hammer a spline bit down the centre hole. then undo with a ratchet. you can re-use them that way too, if you find the key later on.

we broke our key and had to drill the lock nut on each wheel out rather than the centre cap nut,

the ones you are referring to are £16 a set for new bolts and key.

it is possible to get a new key on its own however, if you have the sheet of paper with the code on it, (tends to be the code isnt written on the sheet of paper tho, as was the case with my original set and the new 1s I bought)
