Fitting rear headrests

I want to fit some headrests into the seats of the Cavalier leather I have in my Astra mk3.
The seats dont have the holes in to slot headrests in as the cavaliers headrests fitted into the parcel shelf thing.

What i want to know is...Can i fit rear headrests profeessionally, even though there arnt any holes there already?

They dont have the holes in as Cavalier rear headrests are located on holes on the rear shelf.

Sorry, missed the bit you'd already written!! LOL hangover is my excuse.

You could try fitting them to the parcel shelf. The Cavs one doesn't lift up as a hole unit, so the section in the hatchback's that supports them stays still when they move. Astras, the entire shelf lifts up. Need to check how much space there is really.

ok mate
So do you not think they'll be able to fit like normal (none cavalier) headrests fit?
As the astras shelf is flimsy and theres no room for the headrests to be attahced to that

Shelf isn't a whole lot more flimsy than the Cavalier's really. It might be an idea to re-inforce the leading egde from the inside along the back. Some carpet covered 6ply or something. Could be made stronger with very little work. But there's no room by the sounds of things (struggling to remember how the Astra looks like from the parcel shelf/seat area).

I don't know about fitting them to non-Astra seats. You could take the backing off the seat. I did read somewhere that not all MK3 Astra's had the provison for rear headrests as there was no slider in base spec model versions. But that it could be fitted....how, I don't know. But take your old seats apart and see where the runners seat and see if they can be transfered. Then you might be able to start fitting the clip tops.

John, what rear headrests are you using? Cavalier ones? You'll need to change the irons on them unless you have another set of front head rests to use.

This is a problem I've still yet to sort out too. Got the rear headrests for my Cav seats but they're at a funny angle aren't they so if you stuck em in the back of the seats they'd be horizontal!

Was thinking of constructing some kind of support to go across the back of seats that would somehow hold the back of the headrests. But obviously they wouldn't be adjustable
