    Sorry bout the DUMB questions...

But im looking to buy some bucket seats. I am I right in saying that they wont come with any seatbelt equipment and that I need to take off the seat belt off my original seats and fix them onto the buckets?

Or do I need to get a harness?

Personally, I want to keep my original seat belt type rather then a 3 or 4 point harness.

Sorry if its a dumbass question

    Cheers

    Few things to consider:

    1) If you have harnesses, you will need to remove the rear seats to mount them.
    2) Normal seatbelts on buckets tend to look gay.

Another thing is that quite a lot of cars attach the seatbelt clip to the normal seats subframes. This means the only way you would be able to keep them is if you welded the buckets on top of the standard subframes.

Generally getting harnesses is the way to go. Its what I've done.

want to to keep my rear seats otherwise I can only get 1 girl into the car and I want 4.

Dnt care if it looks a bit gay rather keep my original seat belts. I thought bucket seats had the an area for the original seat belt unit to fix onto.

Oh well need to ring up and ask i suppose.

    Cheers

I can tell you they dont...

They only way you'll be able to do it is if you either weld the buckets to your original subframes, or get adapted runners rather than new subframes, made by the bucket seat company.

if you use the standard belt, then it will have to go over the sides of the bucket seat, and will not actually hold you in place.. if you have a bump then you will have to fly forward a couple of feet before you actually get stopped by the belt!
i think that alone is justification for a harness.
