Lowering the 5-door ... by how much?

    40 or 60 mill?

Also, will it make much difference if I get just springs, as opposed to the full kit?

And will i notice the difference if i get a strut brace!? or jsut look nice?

Yes a full kit will make a difference.
Its mostly the dampers that prevent better and stiffen the handling up.
The tuning.co.uk Blistein kit is good

I would go 40mm, heard that 60mm gives a very harsh ride and don't handle too good.

I would doubt you would notice the difference with a strut brace, but they look cool

i'd only go 40mm on an astra, any lower and the ride is horrid !! lowered my astra 5 door by 60mm with 17"'s and a fag paper in the road made the car thud !! changed the lowering kit to 40mm and it handled ALOT better and was more comfortable.

I lowered mine by 40mm and added some 17s. Looks good. I think 60mm will give it a bad ride!

    I'm thinking 40mill it is.
Yeah, I did have the tuning.co.uk Billy-Blacks in mind.

Anyone got any feedback on them?

Also, any pics of an astra lowered 40 then 60mm on 17"s, just to compare?

heres pics mine with the black bilsteins from tuning and eibach 30mm springs from demon tweeks, the top 3 pics below were taken day after all fitted so it has lowered a bit more now that it has fully settled. and last week got the e-tech strut brace (also from tuning) fitted last week and that has made a big differance as well in handling/body roll, just feels much more solid on cornering, as always when i get a new toy i try test it out as best i can and a certainly took a few corners faster and sharper than before and could have probably gone faster as it stuck like glue. but i am not a racing driver and didnt want to push too hard cos i have spent a fair whack on the car so dont want to crash the thing.
