I usually tend to obey laws.

But this law doesnt have much sense in tbh. Yes I believe heavy dark tints are silly. Medium tints and light tints are much better imo. I would personally go for very light tints.

What is the difference of it being made into the glass and film? If it only lets in 50% of light for argument sake then its the same wether or not its film or glass.

As for the rear windscreen they teach you to use it when you take driving lessons and not using your rear view mirror to look out of your rear view screen is a fail. With the exception of vans and that is understandable.

I think they should revise the law and allow genuine exceptions and not just use ppl who mod cars as a scapegoat for accidents and so forth. The example they used in the link I gave at the top of the page was about a car heavily tinted not seeing the motorbike and causing accidents.

Im sure there have been cases where people who have non tinted windows have simply not looked at there mirrors didnt see the bike and wham.

I feel all these laws are debatable

Strongly agree with you x20xev on alot of they points. Also as soon as people ask what i drive i tell them, Black cav on 17's, lowered you know the usual and they are straight away like boy racer! Its so annoyin to be 'classified' just because i like to be individual! So because i'm individual it makes me an idiot and careless driver. NO i dont think so. I do race but not through streets or near schools. I have some sense. So what bout cars that come standard with window tints? I'm garaunteed to disobay (wrong spellin) this law! I am and will continue too! We as individuals do get the blame for alot of things because wee are an easy target and there are alot of people like us who mod casr and are complete t**ts on the road! Sorry for rant but i hate it!

I know what you mean mate. People who tend to mod cars but keep there cars in top condition and take care like most ppl on Mig are people who tend to take care more on the roads. Otherwise why mod your car to that degree to just smash it up at the end.

As for me tinting Im gonna look into it and make sure if I do tint, for it to be very light and make sure theres plenty of light coming thru so the feds cnt complain.

    Nice discussing with you all

Also check with your insurers guys, some companies wont insure if you have film tints fitted, took me ages to find one that would. They rckon film tints reflect more and make it harder to see out than actual tinted glass does even with the same percentage light transmission.
I personally think limo tints etc shouldnt be allowed up front but mine are easy to see out of even at night.
Its all a load of B/S thats been taken too far as usual. Do they stop people driving with dark sunglasses on? Do they feck! and then can see an damn sight less thru them than i can thru my tints. Plus it keps the car cooler so makes it more comfortable to drive and as others have said adds security.

yeh it really does get on my tits (if i had some) Eveything is always taken to far.

I believe the film helps glass security too they dnt break as the glass shatters and stays on the film but hey its a crap reason right? Too right Stick why not ban people with tinted sunglasses? Otherwise the feds would stop having to wear em too whilst they drive lmao

Such a headache yet in america its all good, maybe they aint got motorbikes or traffic in america, who knows

Thanx for the tip on the insurance

Thats ridiculous. You really think thats NOT dangerous? The only way I can see that as being acceptable is if you only drove it on sunny days, between 10-6.

    Have some common sense, jesus.

i got pulled by the police a few weeks back for tints and they had the vosa tester there and they sayed you can have tints with 75% light getting through which is basically a factory tint so he said anyway. anyway i had to take mine off got a 14day probition notice

So does that mean your allowed tints but only tints that allow 75% light to go thru?

Just goes to show no one is certain on what it is, even the police say different things.

    what a joke lmao
