cost of getting side skirts fitted & painted..

looking to get side skirts (the M3 style from tuning) on my car soon and the guy i use to do any bodywork/painting reckons will be about 400.00 to do the job, which i thought was a bit steep.

he said its because he fits unpainted skirt to the car, fills any gap with filler and a couple of inches up side panels then rubs it all smooth as a babys ass making it look as if they have not been added which takes a bit of time and work.

does that sound about right price wise.

p.s anyone that has skirts added to a mk3 astra thats had skirts added could you please post a link to pictures so i can see how others are finnished.

    thanks

I fitted the same skirts as you but I did it myself.

I have a 5door mk3 so it was less blending work as a 3door but price wize your looking at £50+ for prep , primer and paint and about £10 for filler.

The side skirts are bonded on with silkaflex which i got with the skirts but you can get if for about £6 a tube you will need two tubes and some rivets at the corrners....

Took me about 7-8hrs work over 3-4 days (to alow silkaflex to set and paint to cure) but he will be quicker as I had not done it before..

total cost me under £70 so he is making about £330 for a under a days work over 3-4 days..

You work out if this is a good deal or not...

    My old astra ....
