    Tinting!

Im new to tinting windows so I need some info on it b4 i start taking out my wallet and gettin bumped!

Firstly i heard there are 2 types of tinting: Film and Proper replacement of glass with tinted ones.

2ndly is there a big price diff with the 2?

What percentage differences can i get with tinting for e.g. 10% 20% 30% 50% etc

The car is a Nova was thinking to get all but windcreen tinted of course, avergae price?

    Cheers

There's 2 ways of tinting, both with film it just depends on if you take the windows out or not.

Tinting pro's will remove the glass if it's an easy job, or leave it in place if it's a b*tch.

It's not so much percentages, just go by the name of the film ie light, medium or dark smoke etc...

For a Nova, expect to pay £120 - £170 fitted.

    Depends...

Do you have a sexy interior (ie bucket seats or roll cage)? If so then I'd go light smoke so you can still show it off

On the other hand if you have no mates / a fat bird then go limo black lmao

    All good mate!

There's light smoke, medium smoke, dark smoke

Light smoke is similar to what modern cars have as standard (ie just slightly darkened glass)

Medium smoke is semi-transparent - you can see shapes but not colours

Dark smoke is almost blacked out

Limo black is errr... gangster lmao

    Yup.

I've had limo black on my 106 GTi for 6 months and never been asked about it. Easiest thing to do is put your windows down if you get stopped.

I was pulled because I had my window downn!! was late at night so they thought it was abit strange. Gave me 3 points and a fine originally till I appealed it and just got a 60 quid fine.

up to you if you want to risk it. Everything behind the B pilar can be as dark as you want it (100% tint) anything in front of it can't have any tint unless it's factory.

so rear windows can be tinted but front door and windscreen of course cant.

I have seen so many ppl do it though. Id rather loose points then gain some.

    Cheers for that

yup just think of it like a van, legally you could spray black paint on all your windows behind the B pillar (rear windows) if you wanted and leave all the front windows, fashion police might have something to say about that though!!
