    Respray

Another question while I'm in this forum, how much (roughly) would a respray for my Astra cost, inc. fixing small (I'm talking small, not as in someone kicked a panel in) dents and stuff.

I know no-one can give an exact amount, but I guess what I'm after is a minimum price I should be paying for a decent spray job?

I'd say £400-£500 for an outside tidy up,
all depends how fussy you are & how good the bodyshop is

Yep, a cheap blowover would be £4-500 ish but if you want a proper job/colour change and the car bare-metalled, with decent paint then you will be looking at anywhere from £1000 upwards, probably nearer £1500-2000 for a very good job.

Well I want it resprayed in the same colour, which is a metallic burgundy red.

There's a couple of decent bodyshops near me

Full colour change on mid sized car like Astra is around £450 depending on prep work needed

Outside only respray in same colour is flat £220

Personally I would never pay as little as that. I would want top quality paint, and for £220 you couldn't even get the materials.

all depends if you want to strip the lights, door handles mirrors etc off yourself and do you want to do any prepwork/filling?

I should add that I'm a bit of a perfectionist because I used to formulate car paint, so I know the difference between the good stuff and the not so good stuff, and I can spot a not so great finish as well.

Looks nice. Good price for that kind of job.
Its better to burn out than to fade away. So long as theres not a police car behind you at the time...

I don't really have the time or inclination to do that stuff to be honest, would rather just pay a bodyshop to do the whole job for me, from start to finish.
