removing the leather from calibra rear seats

ive sorted the back bench out, bit ass sits on. got that pretty much fitted onto the corsa rear bench.

question is, how does the leather come off the back seat (split bit). its attached to the rear of the seat (bit in boot) unclipped all that but cant see how its held onto the sides???? the bench had about 180000000 little metal hooks in it, but i cant seem to find anything on them backs.

any top tips for a first time leather remover???

    many thanks

Hi, surely you wont be needing all the leather on the seats right? So why not just stanley knife off as much as you can???

Then surely you will still have a big enough piece to do your baby corsa seats?

yeah, id thought of that, but would rather keep pretty much all of it really just incase. reason being, have to join the 2 leather rear bits together as the corsa rear seat is an all in one job. the bench bit kinda fits, although like you say, there is too much of it. still made it fit easily enough

The leather cover will come off easilly enough if you know what your looking for. The clips you mention are hog rings and normally bronze in colour, best bet is to just nip em in two to get those off.

The back cover might push and clip into place inside the foam on the rear, not sure without seeing it, pic, etc.

Never a good idea to start throwing a knife at a job, the cover can easilly be unstiched at the sides, shortened and then sewn back together to make a proper job.

i cant see any of those clips on the back split part of the seat. as you say, shorten and sew back together is the plan

So are you doing the door cards and stuff in the leather as well? If you 've got any left overs I'd be tempted to trim a couple of small dash or centre console bits.

In fact, have a look for somebody selling just a rear bench for example (prob £20-£25) and use that leather to do some more with -

Rear parcel shelf? Pillars? Dash panels? Centre console?

It would be like a carisma re-trim for £25! lmao lmao lmao

yeah, lol, if i could find any i would.

ive completed the back seats now. was actually quite easy considering the material was never meant to fit a corsa bench or rear seat. got the neeedle and thread out in the end and joined the 2 back seat bits together myself. more satisfying if you tackle a job like this on your own i think.

leather parcel shelf, maybe. will see if i can fnd some other bits of leather seats going.

hadnt planned on doing the door cards, but i might yet, i dunno
