Hmm Astra G bonnet lifters fitting

I bought a set of bonnet lifters and when they are fitted, they stop the bonnet closing properly and hit against the wing?!

Is this normal or is there something I have done wrong or are they all like that?

Would it matter if they were upside down?

Would they still hit the wing then?

Tried that. When they are closed its the thicker part thats hitting the wing and stopping the bonnet closing properly. So when the bonnet is down, the thinner arm is completely inside the thick one.

Sounds like they are too long.

    Sound like Calibra/Cavalier ones

The guy I got them from is a user/member on here too but can't remember his name! Deleted the pm's ages after I got them through!

And the ebay link doesn't have any useful info on it.

Yeah. I did all that. Even had the wing bolt out but they were just too fat.

Re: Astra G bonnet lifters fitting

    Just found this

Anyone installed bonnet lifters (inxx) on a MK4 Astra

Think they are a hit or a miss....

But someone in there said to fit the 'L' shaped bracket to the lower bolt hole... which was worse.

The 'L' shaped bracket was pointing down instead of up.
