    Resprayed Body Panels

Hi, ive recently resprayed a wing on my cav in 79L flame red.
By day the match is perfect, you could never tell..........but once night comes and you get the car under sodium street lights.......well the wing stands out like a sore thumb!
Anyone got any advice on how to minimise this which DOESN'T include blowing the whole car over, or any scientific explanation for it?

    Cheers

Or trying flatting the old paint work and buffering to bring the colour back.

the old paintwork could not be any better........it is glossy flame red as it came out the factory. It is polished weekly and must be the shiniest around so theres gonna be no change in colour.
Oh and it doesnt require lacquer

mate nothin u can do! other than re spray whole car! ive got exactly the same problem and i've tried everything!
    -t-cut
-Mopping it - brill at shinin up sprayed area!
    -g3
    -poishing - mer, turtle wax
There is nothing! other than to respray it, Sorry to be so blunt! but I thought id save ave u money and time and tell u.

Laquer will just peel off and look 100 times worse if you spray that on old paint! plus base colours (non metalic) don't need laquer!

    Laquer should work ?
Lots of people just buy the laquer to spray onto old paint! even if it's not mettalic or pearl with laquer on it makes it easier for you to use a rubbing compound and wax (sealant). That might work if done that way!!

I think thats worth a go ? In theory if you laquer a non mettalic its alot easier to buff up and clean even if it doesn't fix the colour difference problem.

    Re: Resprayed Body Panels

    Hi mate,

the problems u are having is due to the artificial lighting it will show up a resprayed panel or the panels that have not been re-sprayed,

your best way of loosing this is to spray the side of the car as once gets around to the front bumpers and bonnet or the boot the colour is on a bend and will not give the effect that it is now being panel to panel..

On most panels when u spray them the panel next to it has to be blended so as the color difference dont show up

    Check this thread...blowover...

As said, the only way around the problem is to either ignore it or get it blended into the surrounding panels. This is always the problem with spraying a single panel off the car.
