    Re: blue sidelight bulbs

cheers lee jus i need to know what to do ive been told by my old man not to drill another hole into the back of the headlight as it may not pass the mot if i do and if condensation or water gets in it messes the reflector up then i need new headlights

also if i put a new switch for my sidelights so wen dipped beam on the sidelights turned off wud this pass an mot as the sidelights wud operate off a diff switch

the only other idea i had was to drill the indicators an put a switch to them for there as there no reflector to mess up in the indicator

    Re: blue sidelight bulbs

well my argument is if red blue lights r illegal on front then y do cars have headlights with the blue tint to them also white is illegal at back so why r the number plate and reverse white also why r indicators orange then

fit a relay so that it switches on when the dip beam is on. this will then switch the blue off. also it will fail the MOT with blue in . put a fuse in the feed to the relay so you just change the blue over to white and pull the fuse at mot time

    Re: blue sidelight bulbs

write lets see if i got this right

if i put a relay in while the blue leds in when i turn to dipped beam the sidelights will turn off so that the headlight jus appears white and when im on sidelights they will appear blue

then at mot time i put the normal sidelight blubs back in pull the fuse from the relay ive made so that the sidelights will come on with main beam an everything will function as normal

    Re: blue sidelight bulbs

either that or you could get rid of the connections to the side light bulbs and just wire your own powersupply to them, using a switch wired into the car. When mot time comes, just fit back the original connections. less effort, but probably in the long run the other way is better.

    Re: blue sidelight bulbs

wood'nt worry abot it if you like the blue builbs then leave them in, ive been running blue sidelight & headlight builbs for around three years in my cars now & never had a problem been pulled over loads of times by cops for checks & stuff thay dont seem to care

once forgot to take them out for a mot & it passed fine.

    with blue lights

    Re: blue sidelight bulbs

I just used brighter, slightly higer wattage, white headlight, that then makes them look like xenon bulbs, i got no problems, apart from when i drove home with only sidelights, and fogs on, but then again, it was asking for it!

    Re: blue sidelight bulbs

I've got blue led side lights on the gf's 206.
They are seperate from the headlight casing so show up all the time.
I even drive with just sidelights on when it's not dark.
Seen a few New fiestas driving round Rochdale with the same.
I've never been pulled with them before.
The 206 will show the blue a lot more then the Astra will ever.
