    Momo boss kit... Cav turbo

Does anyone know if this momo styled boss kit will fit an airbagged cav turbo L reg '94 steering column?

I hear the non airbagged column differs than the airbagged column concerning the splines.

here for advert on this item....

    cheers adam

the splines are indentical from the airbag to non airbag columns

its the wheel and the black airbag position ring that are different, you need to disconnect the battery for over 1 min, then remove the airbag and then remove the steering wheel in the normal manner then behind the wheel is a movabel black plastic ring that is around the column, you need to unplug this and then remove it from the viehicle

cut and join the two yellow wires together and one of the brown wires goes to the metal sprung contact at the top of the column for the horn push.

once this is done the column is identical to the non airbag model and you can then use the geniune momo hub to mount your momo wheel.

does it fit the wheel properly that you have?

does it have a wire in it for the horn earth?

do you have any better pics

what i would advise is that you remove the airbag and wheel, then remove the ring and unplug it, then test fit the boss and see if it fits, but attach the wheel to the boss first so you can manouvre the boss on the column.

if it fits any other vauxhall and it fits the momo wheel you have then you should be ok but you need to do the wiring as well.

if you dont join the two yellow wires together you will get the airbag light come on and thats a dealer reset.

also if you remove the airbag without disconnecting the battery you will get the airbag light on

Hi there i am about to remove a Calibra airbag - just how do i do this? I presume it will lever out to reveal the normal steering wheel bolt as found in non-airbag calibras?

OK let's be honest - is it going to explode on me?!

you need to disconnect the battery for a minute or more, then in the back of the steering wheel are two allen key bolts facing the driver holding the airbag assembly in from the back. undo these two and them pull bag forward and unplug the airbag

but if you dont disconnect the battery it will/or may go off.

yes as i have done it before, you need to turn the wheel and then insert allen key and hold end of allen key with pliers. then get person #2 to pull the hweel the right way to undo the two allen key bolts whilst remaining grip on the pliers

Does anyone know which way round the boss goes in relation to the car?

There's a big wedge on the back of it (i presume to cancel the indicators) and there's also a label saying "ToP"... but these are at odd angles!

    Bloody italians

The wheel is quite pretty though
