    Drivers Seat Moving

On my mk3 astra the drivers seat moves forward and backward slightly, does anyone know how to fix this stupid problem i think it could be something to do with the height adjuster or something?

Amate of mine had the same problem and failed his MOT. I think it needed welding. In the end he got a seat from a breakers.

Its proberly the main bar that joins the two sides together, you'll see it when you take the seat out.

i know on my cali one of the rails has snapped where its bolted, needs removing and welding, just haven't got round to doing it yet! - also check to see if your car has seat pretensioners before you start fiddling, i'm not sure if the mk3's had them

usually on the mk3 astras its like Lee said - the bar underneath either pops out or doesnt click into place properly, ive had the same problem on both my mk3's. take the seat out (remembering the pre-tensioner) and have a look underneath, think i bent the bar slightly to fix it.

    Re: Drivers Seat Moving

I removed the two front seats from my Astra a few months ago to fit a set of Sparcos. One of the mounting legs had snapped off the driver's seat. Mine had a habit of moving backwards and fowards in a semi circle kind of motion (if you get what I mean). If you rocked back and forth in the seat hard enough, you'd eventually get the outer runner to click into place. I'd say because the mount was broken, the runner wasn't moving along far enough for the lug to drop into one of the holes. Had no probs since the new seats went in
