i got my new gearknob and handbrake handle today... before i start ripping at them like a russian bitch on steroids to try and pull them off... is there any tips for easing their removal?

The handbrake cover/sleeve does have to be cut/hacksawed off.

Gearknob, try twisting it hard,if no joy get some mole grips/stilsons that usually does it,or failing that cut it off.

i changed my gearnob a couple of weeks ago for a carbon jobbie. all well and good, got my dad to hacksaw it off.

anyway had to phone him up a week later cos my knob had fallen off in my hand!!

    lmao

even he had a chuckle when i told him that...

sorted now though, the alun (sp) screwy things had loosened off, so even i could fix that!!

i changed my knob in about 1 minute, pulled off the standard one, used some pliers to pull off the green insert, put the new one on. Then came my handbrake sleeve, after 30mins of pure hacksawing of the current one i managed to prize it off, then i realised the new one is about 15mm too long so i need to extend the button by that amount... i'm going to find something tomorrow... grr
