Wheres the damn paint code on a Vectra?

Looking at a mates Vectra (a '97R I think) and want to get the pint code off it. Theres about a million numbers on the VIN tag and I've tried all the three digit ones and none of them is a paint code. I've tried the two 5 digit ones and they don't come up as a paint code either. Also looked at the sticker on the door jamb and can't get anything from the numbers there.

Whats the deal? Where the feck have they hidden it?

L34 doesn't decode. Nearest is L378 which is Hawaii Green Metallic and this car is solid blue.

And the Vin plate looks nothing like that. Says Opel on it for a start...

a trip to a vauxhall dealer turns out its Kings Blue. The door sticker has Y296 on it and apparently you change the Y to an L and then it works as a paint code. Eh? Nothing like making it simple....
