How big a deal is respiratory protection?

Today I never used owt with celly primer, and yea I got high but that was it.

The polyester base coat stinks far worse and as does the 1K laquer, Im not keen on sucking it in.

Any gen and even a link where i can get a mask, I looked on screwfix and saw a few........are they any good?

Bearing in mind this is a one off, is it really gonna do me harm?

My painter doesnt seem to care, he was a pro painter, and now just does odd jobs. Even said he did 2K without a mask once!

Get the 3M Maintenance Free Respirator from screwfix http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/...27709&id=13038 thats what I used today ..its a very good mask ....

It's is now black so it has saved my lungs and not a sniff of solvent i would get one dont take a chance with this stuff ....

Halfords do a respirator.

Comes with dust cartridges so you'll have to buy the Charcoal cartridges as well.

You'll want an air fed respirator for using 2K hardener.

Im gonna buy one on Monday as last night my chest was a little tight, aint felt like that since I smoked, no good, lol.

The celly primer is not that bad, but its the other stuff I dont fancy inhaling, cant be good.

I need some more primer to give them all their second load of coats, so will invest in a mask at the same time.

Yeah, it's a must. You'll kick yourself in years to come... u say you used to smaoke? same here, so your lungs are ***ked already. Buy the best you can afford, you'll probably use it again, or hir eit to friends.....'here, borrw this for a fiver' sweet idea me thinks

I got a Devilbiss organic (twin charcoal) from the place I buy my paint. £25, you can't go wrong. I resprayed an estate in Synthetic last summer with only a paper dust mask. I was littlerally coughing and wheezing for 6 weeks after. Not good.

For 2K an airfed is the only way. Its a cumulative poison, so the more you do it the closer you are to death. Unlike Celly etc. where your body breaks it down and gets rid of it over time.
