calibra leather into an astra mk3?

i've heard people have done this and was wondering how hard it is to fit. A few people have said that the front seats will go in fairly easily. Do they need any modding to fit in, do they rub on the door cards, etc.
Will the back seats fit in if modded ?

any help or info would be greatly appreciated

    dave Dickson just did this.

front seats are a straight swop and will take 2 minutes.

Backs wont fit but Dave retrimmed his original seats with the leather, dunno how hard it was but im sure he will post here later on tonight.

    No I didnt!

As said, the fronts are a straight swap. 4x 13mm bolts hold each seat subframe into the car, just swap the whole lot, including subframe. Everything lines up perfectly and the seats dont catch anywhere.

The rears took a bit of persuasion. I looked at using the leather to re-trim the std ones, but it looks like a hassle so I just made the Calibra ones fit. The bottom section fits down nicely. The seatbelts wont come up through the holes in it, just up the back of it like in the astra, which is fine. Its just wedged in place, not clamped down like it was originally as the brackets dont even nearly line up.

The back sections are slightly different widths though so take a bit of hammer-work. The centre support at the 60/40 split is in the wrong place so i hammered it flat, out the way. With a bit of work, the seats then bolted into the std mounts. they are maybe 1 - 1.5 inches too wide, but with an effort they will fit. I just left them as is, and one day when i can be assed I will weld the Calibra centre-mount to the astra floor, but so far it hasnt needed it. the seats are rock-solid without it.
The bit where they latch at the top doesnt quite line up, but bending the steel loop downwards a bit and enlarging its mounting hole and using a big washer so it can mount maybe 1cm further out allows the seats to latch as normal so they can still be folded flat.
The basic shape of the back section is slightly different so leaves a wee gap either side at the wheel-arch, which I covered with black acoustic cloth to hide. Looks fine.

    pics....

Excuse the mess in the pass footwell

They looks the nuts, Im dead chuffed with them. Just need to get some wee cover things for the old bits where the sets used to hinge from and Im done!

Also, i found that my GSi already had the wiring looms in place for the front seats to be heated. The sawitch connections were under the cetre console near the hand-brake. There were 2 blank panels where the switches go next the hand-brake lever.
The seat-ends of the loom were under the carpet just where the two halves join, tucked away under the main sections of car loom under each seat.
Just plug the seats in. get some switches, slam them into the centre-console and thats it!

Since Daves offline Ill answer on his behalf.

The door cards are GSI cards retrimmed in black suede and look superb.

The leather is out of a V6 and all the leather will be the same.

And yes Lee, it does look awesome!

This has given me thought about my own seats, they are in fine condition but as Im an upholsterer, I might re-trim my seats in leather in the new year.

Jeez, that leather does look good! Personally i think i'd make up new bracket's/catches so that it was all still functional - or just re-trim....

How much for a Cally interior, roughly?
