Re: Paint Job
high gloss thinners are better than the ones listed as antibloom, they dry the slowest, its the very fast thinners that bloom due to cooling the air as they evaporate, condensing the water in the air around, the water then enters the paint and makes it go cloudy/white
if you paint in warm weather it can be worse due to moisture in the air and the temp speeding up the evaporation, the winter can be better to spray! its actualy dryer if its not raining.

Re: Paint Job
I was thinking of the very high relative humidity we've had in the last few weeks, bloom is the only significant drawback of celly paints.
Good tip on the high gloss thinners. Never thought about it like that and it does make sense. I'll try that next time, I've a car I'll be doing a full respray on in the next couple of weeks.

Re: Paint Job
the car has a lot of rust on it, should i sand it down, apply anti-rust product and then primer b4 i spray?

Re: Paint Job
Yes, remove all the rust first, apply some anti-rust stuff, and then use some acid etch primer (chromated if you have breathing apparatus). Then prime/topcoat as normal.
