interior dye...
i'm not really sure if this is the right area of the board to be posting this thread in, so if it is wrong, could you please re-direct. basically, i've just put some new seat covers in my 106 - mainly for the reason i couldn't afford new seats , however, the colour scheme in the car, the marterial on the inner door matches the seats, but now the seats have a new cover, the door material looks pretty stupid, as it looks totally out of place. i want to block shade them black, as such, and i'm basically just wondering if this is advisable, and if so, what measures should i take to do it??? i've thought about just dabbing black dye on, until it seeps and actually changes the colour of the material. any feedback on this issue would be much appreciated. thanks a lot guys. J

Re: interior dye...
why dont you just change the material? odds are it would be a lot cleaner and easier than messing around with dye

Re: interior dye...
i wouldn't know how to do it :S it's sealed under the plastic material, so in order for me to do that, i'd have to take apart the door, andf change the material from within the door. that way, it turns into quite a task. good logic though. any other suggestions? cheers mate. J

Re: interior dye...
the door card comes off easily enough (check your haynes manual if your not sure how to do it, just in case theres any hidden screws etc
id be very wary about taking dye anywhere near my cars interior, if an accident were to happen youd be looking for another set of seat covers

Re: interior dye...
I was wondering about the same thing as skye386 although i had a different idea..i though i could use the dashboard colouring spray paint stuff, ie mask up all the handles etc and cover the seats and then just spray the door card. Would this work do u think??

Re: interior dye...
yeah, that's a good idea. although, i'm not sure how well that would work. i'm not exactly educated in this aspect, i don't know if the material would absord the paint, and then, be permanent... the worst possible outcome i think, is if the material was coloured, but the colouring comes off after, on skin, when touched. if that makes sense. keep feedback coming guys. Re: interior dye...
i've seen this:
http://www.clarkcraft.co.uk/product_...oducts_id=9316
it's cheap, so i did think about just doing it, but the cost of what it could potentially do wrong are far more. do you guys think this will work??? i have e-mailed them, but as usual, they're obviously too "busy" to reply. cheers guys. J

Re: interior dye...
[B][I]Hi you could use acruloc pint. I know this paint is used on T Shirts & other clothing. I wouldn't use spray paint!
