MK2 Astra Mattig Kits?

Are they hard to get hold of? I'm looking at my first car, a rather tatty MK2 Astra, and I'm just brainstorming how I want to build it up really. I like the look of this Mattig kit:





I've been told they're not in production anymore and hard to find, is this true? Also looking at the track, it seems pretty wide and probably wouldn't look too good as standard with the kit, how would it effect handling in that state?

There was a green one of these in Max Power back in 1997. I don't think anything's done to the suspension parts on the car to increase the track, they're just very wide wheels under it that came with the kit anyway. I would imagine the car would tramline like mad and you would be replacing wheel bearings every few months.
Not sure if the kit is available or not now. If it is, then it'll cost you a fair bit. I'm sure the one in Max Power cost around 3500-£4k and that was 7 years ago
If you can't get this kit anymore, there is another wide arch kit available - can't remember who makes it, but there was one on a white Astra in Total Vauxhall a couple of years ago. It's not as wide as the kit above and suits the car much better IMO

these are still okay to buy think there about 6k to buy tho. there was a lad selling one a bit ago here on mig and he want about 3k a think. worth it as well he had wheels that where as wide as a lamboginie (spelling). not sure who tho. hell of a lot of work but would look feckin cool.ha

hi, i now own the green mattig mk2 astra that was in max power. its currently in the unit having a facelift....bumpers, arches, skirts etc being kept......just updating it a bit (probably changing the colour) and bringing it forward into 2004 (as its a bit dated lol) got pics so i'll post em on here as i go along. If anyone has any pics of it...please email me as i am trying to find out as much as i can about its past....like who originally had it etc etc.

I remember the car well back in Maxy P, was the boll*x back then (well I thought so). Are those fogs on the front mounted in shoe boxes or what! Good luck with the renewal, and I hope you don't have to replace those rear tyres, God damn they can't be cheap!

fogs were removed from bumper yesterday.....bumpers getting smoothed out. Front tyres cost £280 for yokos, rear tyres more.

when i bought it, it had a 2ltr 8v engine in it....so 'F' knows. Trying to find out as much as I can about its history.

the red one in the max feature!!!......and i freekin love it to death.....i was the lad who someone said had a kit for sale....but i have kept it now.... and my rear tyres are 345/35/15's.....ditto as per standard lamborghini 5000s model...sweet!

holla at me coz would be nice to meet someone who has another 1!!!...
