Why do you want to take a MK3 Astra dash out Ben??

Ok then, to start off, you need to remove the steering wheel, then the steering wheel cowling, stalks and accsociated trim. You'll need to then take out the clocks. Unscrew the cowling around it. Clocks are held in with four screws. Undo these and pull the clocks towards you. They will not come straight out because you have speedo cable attached and multi-pin plugs still in place. Reach round the back and just pull off the plugs.

With the speedo cable, there is a plastic release mechanism which you need to squeeze, bit fiddly, but it will release.

Next step is to take appart the centre consol/heater control bits.

Lift up the rubber try thing below the MFD, there are 2 screws there, undo this and pull the MFD out.

    Remove radio and cage.

Unscrew bottom of centre consol fascia then behind where the MFD was located, there should be some more screws. Undo these.

Next step is to pull the control knobs off. Middle one I think has a retainer screw up inside it...not sure on that one. Once these are off, pull the fasica off and disconnect the control wires. Make sure you label these. Fascia should pull off then.

Then, you'll need to move onto the gearselector centre section. Remove the gaitors. Front one unclips, snip cable tie and remove. For the handbrake, unclup small coin tray and unscrew the gaitor and pull if off.

There are about 6 screws holding this centre section in, 2 in the centre console section of the dash, 2, inside the rear part of the ash tray (need to pull this out), then some more dotted around somewhere inside where the gear selector comes out and the hand brake is. Might be easier to unclip the gearlever to get the console out. Easy to do, reach inside and you'll see a small U-clip with a pin, unclip, pull out and lever should be released. Then slide consol out.

You'll then need to remove the vents which are clipped in place, might be a screw in them as well.

Next thing you'll need to do is to remove the windscreen wipers, rain deflector and wiper mechanisms. Under this, you'll see large bolts at invervals across that top section of the bulkhead, undo these.

Also, undo the small screws in the sides of the dash where the door meets dash.

Should just slide out. You will also need to remove the ducting too from inside as there are loads of bits hanging about. It's all logocal really.

This is all rough, but should be easy to work out...just get 'at it'

2 or 3 13mm nuts under the scuttle panel, remove the steering wheel, remove the screws at eash side of the dash, remove glovebox and take screws out behind that

then gently pull on it , finding the locations of the rest of the screws

Can't take the glove box out on an Astra Steve, just the lid. You're thinking of Cavalier gloveboxes.

Sorry Si, but yes you can mate. Two screws round the bottom edge, pull the front down and two at the top. Disconnect the light and hey presto.

Can you? Oh right. Didn't know...I stand corrected. Shouldn't need to take it out though to remove the dash should you?

Yeah glovebox you nee the 6 screws out of the under tray, then 2 screws inside the glovebox at the top.

There are 3 studs through the bulkhead into the engine bay, (under the scuttle panel

2 screws I think in each side of the dash.

To get the Centre panel out there are 4 screws under the MFD, 2 screws at the bottom of the panel and 1 screw under the steering column surround trim.

To get the light control panel out there's 2 screws behind the Light switch and 1 behind the steering column surround.

To get the Instrument panel out there are 2 screws in the top of the surround, and 2 in the bottom.
The steering column cowling has 5 screws.

The Centre Console has 2 screws in each side in the footwell, to heater box and dash,
2 Screws to the floor near the back of the Console, and I think 1 screw behind the ashtray.

You need to take all the panels off in order to disconnect cables, cut cable ties etc.

If you are putting the dash into a MK2 then cut off plenty of cable with all the connec tors
