    Rocker cover

    Just wondering what the best stuff is to clean/ shine up the rocker cover ?

    what engine? XE? if so - degreaser is the best imo

    degreaser, then metal polish

    ie: autosol or something similar, brasso etc

    I bought a polising kit from Machine Mart and used the polish they supply. Took ages but you could see your face in when I was done.

    Really should bother my *** to do it again and get some pics up this time.

    yeah ive just got the polishing kit from machine mart.

    23.44 plus you need a bench grinder which you can get for 15 quid
    PROJECT 4X4....on hold.

    I got the drill attachments, our power drill is stupidly fast compared to any £15 bench drill.

    Easier to work with aswell.

    use autosol kenny with sand paper rub down with the rough grade working down to very fine and always keep applying autosol on to the sand paper

    What kind of paint is best to use once the surface has been prepped?
    Signum Elite 3.2v6 now replacing the old Omega MV6 Estate 3.0v6

    Any car paint.

    Doesnt need to be anything specal

    Both mine were done when I had other bits done on the car. Jamie done his with Halfords spray tins and his is fine

    do they need to be heat resistant up to a certain temp?
    Do you need to use a special primer?

    Get the rocker cover cromed if u want a wicked shine, cost about 20 quid lasts years

    who would do that? ie chroming? can you get things like water tanks done too?
