    spend the cash on some decent kit, ask around and save for a xe or let or even a 8v gte lump. more power/fun than a backbox

    If you want it really loud take the back box off and leave it!

    I've got a softspot for i think its a peco 2! Might be a peco 1

    But whatever it was I used to have a mk1 fiesta I had for nothing just as a banger till it breaks (cracking car must admit - nvr broke once and ran strong - alright for free)

    But I had the peco travel out the drivers side of the car just before the back wheel (back in the days when I had too much free-time and wanted to practice things). It had a stunning sound. Really liked it it was both loud and professional sounding. But that was on a 1.1 or whatever it was. It originally came off/designed for an orion or something like that (big car anyway).

    But saying that a m8t has a peco powermaster on his 1-1 saxo and it sounds nasty!! like a bumble bee caught in a lawn mower! Horrible back box.

    Another m8t has a full longlife system on a civic and that is Stunning (with a capital S) and someone else I know has a longlife on a punto as well - both sound amazing. well worth the 300 quid or whatever they cost anyday. I would def pay it (if I wasn't so poor : 0{

    I've got a single exit 4" janspeed backbox ready to go on my straight through exhaust 9taken both the middle silencers out and replace half the exhaust with flexi exhaust tube (extra baffle action - not making all the exhaust out of the stuff as it would be too loud) / half with the original exhaust. Should sound stunning once finished

    I got a Tiger Backbox on my car, its a twin 4" one, looks quite nice...very loud sets off car alarms and stuff and cost me less than £100 direct from the tiger place.

    powerflow made a system for my mates calibra and that sounded ****e..... really farty and poppy, sounded like the car had a constant mis fire. my mates misses has that massive twin rage exhaust on her 1.1 saxo and it sounds quite good!! but at the end of the day its all down to an individual's opinion innit!!!

    Sportex are no good for loudness - generally pretty quiet, but a nice subtle note to it.

    Powerflow are ****e, as said, a rubbish cheapy sound.

    Piper are pretty good.

    I have a peco big bore 4 on my corsa gsi, it isnt massively loud but has a nice tone, had a cherry bomb on my cavalier 1.6, was much louder, but it ended up rusting and falling off, funny thing was i didnt notice for about 2 weeks after when my m8 spotted the box was missing

    I'd go to Powerflow, then you can specify the sound you're after, some people go to Powerflow and get carp ones made up. I have a Powerflow and its great. Coz I chose a louder, but not too loud one made up.
