also gonna remove the aerial and build it into the rear screen

and for exterior mods thats the lot everthing else will be under the bonnet

Arr, Lee May has them on his and they look lush!!!

I wanna see a Cav with AZEV C's or A's. Not seen one.

Alpina wheels look great on the GSi. Chicken George has them on his.

Would like to see a mock up with Azev's on it.

Done loads of work on it actually. Very happy with it, love it to bits. Just wanna make it quieter. Manifold wrap and a nice quiet stainless zorst with large silencers will do. But not untill after xmas.

Only done bits to it to make it drive nicer. Lowered it 35mm. New disks and pads up front. New CV boots, new cam belt, modded airbox, new handbrake cable, oil/filter change, brake bleed, steam cleaned and painted underneath, bit of welding and some new tyres.

Got an MOT for it soon. Should pass ok. Car is great.

Once I've got some pennies together it's gonna go in for some new rear arches and a blow over. The tints, then wheels or sorts. Job's a good-un.

Well, have done the rear. Got some axel stands, jacked up the back, took the wheels off, got me waterproofs out and got underneath it. Gave it all afternoon to dry then sprayed it with black hammerite. Gotta inject the chassis rails with waxoil soon. Gonna do the main floor pan over the weekend.

I'm going to get Stealth systems in Southampton to make me up a zorst. Will get hugfe silencers on it to make it quiet. They are really free flowing so shouldn't hinder performance.

I'm getting them to make me a custom tail peice. Seen the back boxes on Calrton GSi's and Senator 24v's? The twin slimline rectangular ones. Well, gonna get something like that.

did a similar thing with my old gsi, dirty work!!!

saw a senator 24v where i work the other day did cross my mind what those slimline tailpipes might look likeon a gsi!!

That was his old GSi. Broken for spares due to badly corroded chassis rails. Think it was -40mm. He still has the wheels IIRC.

I will deffo get those tail pipes on my Cav if I get the zorst done. Subtle, but different.

shame nice looking car, personally if the chassis rails on mine go id get them rebuilt, did on the previous gsi at the cost of 400 for one side, shame to see good gsi stripped!!

grass in the pic makes it look lower!

Tom's GSi was nice. Very tidy body work. Drove nicely too since I drove it halfway to Scotland!

that car was stunning and in all honesty that picture alone made me go looking for another one, in my opinion one of vauxhalls best designed cars all round

very nice car that lee, can i ask how much you paid for the wheels? i know you get a discount becuase of the amount of sets you buy.

do you have much problems with rubbing, how do the larger wheels affect handling?

I got them for £850 (Normaly £950) from South Coast Wheels.

They went straight on without needing to touch the arch's.

On the front you may need to cut about 10mm off the driveshaft so the cap sits on properly, I say may as the Dare V2's had a flater center cap which is why I needed to do it but it might be ok for the X1's

As for handling etc its a bit harder ride and you dont want to be crashing over pot holes etc but it still drives nice, I dont race it about so I cant say how it affects the handling.

    Dare V2's in 18"

dare make some lovely wheels, v2's look ace aswell. seen them for a similar price from mail order, might have been south caost wheels, freind has the x1's on his 306xsi , they look good although the car isnt lowered.

definantly the set im gonna get!!!

what do you do for a spare, do use the original gsi alloy or a space saver?

Just use the space saver, Allthough its a pain if I ever get a flat because my brakes are bigger and it doesnt fit over the fronts

what brakes are you using upfront?

suppose with larger wheels standered gsi discs look small?

just for simonp, my cav on azev a's

they look quite nice, motorsport look to them, seen plenty of cosworths with these wheels on!!

did you just replace the disc and extend the calipers to fit or replace the entire hub etc?

do they improve the stopping capability a lot or is it just an aesthetic modification?

New disc's and the bigger V6 calipers.

Stops loads better and dont get brkae fade anymore

Have a look at www.vauxmd.co.uk for there brake conversions, They do a 308 mm kit off the Vectra 2.6 gsi that fits too
