Hello Adam
It's entirely up to you mate, and how much you want to pay...
As you know about my sprayer, for a complete job,
ie windows out, door handles off, doors off, boot off, bumpers off, grill off, spoilers off, lights out, door strips off aerial off, sunroof out - the lot...
It usually costs around £1k for a decent job of 2 stage, ie - if you were to have it done Flame Red again, the 2nd stage will be a translucent laquer causing the red not to ever fade with sunlight, as the laquer will protect it...
Then you can have the cheaper job of everything still on, and it will be considerably cheaper, as its not only the materials that come into play when pricing a job up - its more the time and effort involved...
Sorry - what was the question? lmao
Hope this Helps

hi mate
well of course the car will be fully stripped of everything before sent it to spray to save costs, so all the bodyshop has to worry about it the spraying.
say for example, i wanted a respray from red to blue. to what extent of the car would they spray. obviously engine out, etc etc, and all the viewable stuff, but would they spray under carpets etc as well?

i think its all a case of "as per your request"
if you wanted that - then yes, they would do it
as for the extra cost - im not too sure...
as olly says adam, it really is up to you! I wouldnt have thought you'd find a bodyshop who wouldnt spray everything for the extra cash!
If you do go to a bodyshop and ask for a full respray make sure your quite clear on what your getting for your money. I went to a bodyshop the other day and asked for a full respray

We carried on talking and it turns out i would have to pay more for them to take the windows out etc.....that was just as the car wasIn the same colour too!
Hope this helps

Mine was done at Bodytone in Wokingham (Reading) bout 2 yrs ago, was a full rubdown and respray inc new rear arches and cost £800
your telling me! I carried on talking to him though saying that i might consider having it done therelmao but that was only becuase when i asked how much they did resprays for he said"probably more than you could afford"! That really got on my t!tslmaoOriginally posted by OllyHewitt

If you are thinking of having a full respray, tbh you are better off if you go for the same colour. It will look much better with the new shine, and lack of stone chips, and save you a packet too.
Its surprising how good a respray in the original colour looks.
Like showroom.
It also means that places like engine bay wont need to be done unless you really want it, but seeing as it hardly gets seen in normal use, seems a tad pointless to me. Within weeks it will have gathered dirt and dust anyway.
Of course if you change the cars colour then engine bay will need doing. and thats the price you pay for colour change.
alternatively you could do the engine bay black, i think that looks good and doesnt matter what colour the rest of the car is then.
you can also get that done anytime to save on initial expense now.
personally i would rather spend the extra getting an even better external finish, and leave te engine bay, but there are lots of options. Depends how deep your pockets are.
Under the carpets is sheer madness, thats throwing money away lmao
adam.... come to Essex and get a decent job for decent money mate...
stop complaining and get it done otherwise leave it, red will asways fade no matter what laquer you use.
I rekcon you'll have to get the masking tape and do it yaself and whilst you're at it wrap some around Rupean so maybe he'll shut the ***k up.
Hmm... can't think of what that smell is...... can anyone smell it??Originally posted by Jimmy_Wright

Got it!! It's Bull****!.
Seen loads of red cars that haven't faded one bit..
I was gonna say that. Surprising though it sounds you dont really notice a car with a black engine bay, near the bottom they're very dark anyway.Originally posted by astramod

And, unless you're going for councours, or are trying to HIDE the fact that your car has had a respray. No-one would comment on it anyway.
