yes mate i think it is - i also removed trim in the boot to get to the other side of the rear arches and sprayed some inside the sills,

some of it dripped out onto the drive way through gaps between the inner and out wing - a potential rust hazard - now plugged with wax

Yeah well worth doing that b4 the old tin worm gets a grip – I waxoil mine then do it every year in the summer

Also I would move your speaker wires away from the rest of the cabling – you’ll get the best sound from them with no interference if you run them down a separate part of the car away from any wires carrying 12v+ (I always run mine down the centre)

Nice to see there Phil!! I don't think Vaux put any wax in between inner and out arches on any of their cars!! Only the little token effort at the bottom. LMAO at the pic though.

Well worth doing for everyone before it rusts - thats how it happens - rusts inside out! If you have a mk3 take off the panels and catch it quick - if youve got a mk2 its too late already lmao

At least you got a little blob! Ive just about finished rebuilding my MK1 GTE (new inner and outer rear panels,2x complete rear 1/4 panels, 2x new sills, 2x new doors, 2x new front wings ,new bonnet and new front panel!!!) Reason- no rust proofing in sight!! I dont think they even knew what it was in 1984!!!

Amazing isnt it - you'll be pleased to know the mk2 is no better really.
no consideration given to potential rust at all.
