Astra Mk3 Rear Lights

has anyone got any ideas on what to do with my rear lights. theyre on a k plate astra mk3 merit. regatta blue in colour. is it legal2 colour them?will it pass MOT? How about lexus lights?? or just the phase2 mk3 tinted lights??

it's ok to tint them for MOT as long as the lights shine through enough and you can see the correct colours, also you will need a new reflector somewhere on the back of the car

i wanted to colour code them same colour as my car. regatta blue. what do u think? should i do the whole light?? or just indicator and reverse??

no offence but i think black tinted lights look cr@p. cheap and tacky.is that ur car?? have u thought about the lexus items? i was thinking of colour coding mine. what wld u think?

The problem is, blue tint spray looks ****E. Im mean really bad. Ive never seen it done well.

You could mix some regatta blue paint with laquer and spray your lights with that, that would look good. You WOULD need another reflector tho.

I would go for GSi lights myself.... or

You could do what I did and use red tint spray (I was very dubious about it until I saw the results) the contrast I thought made it look ace as you dont see many vauxs like it.

Yup. I have yet to see a set of blue lights look good (apart from those custom made ones from Hella that you get on VWs)

I tinted the top half of mine with red similar 2 the cav above think it looks better than GSi 1's on theastra in my opinion

I just masked off bottom half an used 1 can of tint (4 both lights). then removed masking an sprayed whole light with clear laquer (gives a better finish)

Passed the MOT no probs

No just give em a good clean an make sure there dry i did mine twelve months ago an still look like there freshly done.

I'm not sure but i think i had 2 change the indicater bulbs from clear 2 orange but that only cost ya a £2 at the most

i have sum phase 1 astra lights for sale 10 quid for pair if u wanted u cud by these n jus keep trying diff things till u made summit u liked this way u wudnt havemessed up your lights so wud still have ones on car

first time i sprayed mine i messed it up but it comes off with turps/white spirit....

check out pic below i think they are as good as GSi ones (on the left) plus the light shines through fine
