If the plan is :

Meet at services
Go find somewhere to eat

And there are 43 people coming, I think we are going to struggle on the finding somewhere to eat front, really you need to be booking somewhere if that many people turn up.

Thats IF you want a xmas meal of some sort etc.

i think people will just eat Mc'ds or KFC, i dont think there would be much interest in a christmas dinner?

I'll probably give your meet a miss then TBH, dont really fancy standing around in the cold and probably rain in december for a couple of hours followed by grabbing a kfc.

I'm a bit old for that, I'd sooner go somewhere pleasant to eat and chat etc

And if you are planning on going to a mcdonalds or a kfc, then the nearest of those is taunton, which is northbound and you are meeting on the southbound side, first mcdonalds or kfc southbound from there would be a few junctions further south at collumpton services, in which case why not just meet there in the first place?

I'd be up for something along meal lines as can't be doin with standing round in a car park either! although I still haven't replaced the astra as I'm only starting to come off crutches

This is more like it mcds, kfc, cruise/convoy plymouth, kfc mcds again :-) then fat cruise, convoy home via mcds or kfc :-)
