Scrap yard, stock info, South west. what do you need?

Decided to start this thread here as over the last year or so i have been trawling scrapyards for miles around, Full time, and selling the most desirable parts on forums and ebay.

I make a relatively good living from it, enough to pay the rent and give me a modest wage, But i do see a lot of very desirable cars (vauxhalls) along my way which sadly i have no use for. Its not viable for me to remove parts from these cars as the demand is so low and its such a shame to see them go

For example a c reg nova sr with brown cheque interior, Numerouse mk2 cav SRi's, millions of nova's, C20xe's, Z20let's, Astra GTE's carlton GSi's, Saab turbo engines by the boat load (although i always nick the red injectors). etc etc

You get my point.

What this thread is all about is anyone with, lets call it a special request, to post their needs / wants and if i can help with info on said vehicle i will. even better i may be able to get the part you want, removed and delivered to you (by myself) for an agreed price.

Lots available, Depending how far you want to travel. I have just stripped the doors off an absolutely MINT mk2 astra with 44k Engine is sweet 1.3 ohc. Its in a yard near Radstock called DUNKERTON DISMANTLERS (DD spares)

They also have a nova 1.4 luxe plus which has the 1.4NV

Ah, yes. I have been taking bits off their mk1 nova sr for about a year now. Do they still have the cavalier with full gsi kit on it?

lol blimey ive been stripping that sr down aswel ,yep the cav with the gsi kit still there ,theyve also got a mk3 cav sri in white,that came in last sat ,i had a damn clean set of cesaros off that for a nice price :}

I saw that this weekend. opened the bonnet hoping to find a redtop. The guy that runs the place races a class 7 special, ford puma with 20xe. Unfortunately he's got his head screwed on so most of the best bits either go in storage or to his mates for season spares.

yep its that orange puma ,that nova sr is a q plate,was originally red if you look in round where the speedo goes ,did you see that dark coloured cav gsi they had up there about a yr ago ,didnt stay there long :{ ,im just hording up vauxhall parts ,use what i need then haave a sale now n again ;]

Why do some places take the mick with their prices, I went to Jones' in Devizes he wanted £30 for a Corsa B headlight, I can get a new one from a motor factors for lesslmao

Hi mate, A yard called "Charles Trent" in poole have a corsa c 1.8 sri. Should have a disk rear beam so might be worth a call. I wanted the mirrors off it yesterday and they said no as it wasnt cleared, so i imagine all is still available for reserve. Theyre a very up to date yard too and will package / pallet anything for delivery. Hope this helps Craig

A bit of a trek for you but a yard in devizes called "Devizes reclamation" Have a citroen c2 vts with Goodyear Eagle F1 "195 45 16s" all the wheels are kerbed badly so he would probably take the tyres off and sell them so he could scrap the wheels...

Ahh my secret is out! In my experience the more you get to know the guys the cheaper the parts, also the more often you visit and more you buy the better. TOP TIP, saturday afternoon prices are better as they have made more money that day, Monday morning is a big NO NO.

Also the cheeky smile followed by " Right i want this but only if the price is right" usually helps, I got a single v bottom pully yesterday off a 1.6 mk2 astra in cheltenham for £1 ! Perfect for my 2.0 8v nova.

Got major panic on at the moment getting my clio ready for a trackday so probably going to miss it though as not going to be free to try for a couple of weeks at least, but I guess I might get lucky and it still be there

I can assure you its there, i saw it again yesterday! Its blue with the standard white wheels. There are however two yards, one is on hopton industrial park and only sells parts off the shelf. The other is down a really tight track by the canal with access for the public. Its this one, the breakers yard you need. good luck

hi mate if you come across any conversion parts for a c20xe into a corsa give me a shout coz im after a load of bits like engine mounts drive shafts conversion hubs and an f16 gearbox or similar for the big block engine i'd be grateful
