| South West Coordination Hi Guys and Girls
I am looking to sort fairly soon the coordination of the SW region amongst a couple of others.
I am looking for one, or ideally two people who could organise a monthly meet, convoys to and from major national events and the odd one or two local events like rolling roads etc. And maybe an xmas do if enough interest.
Anyone interested please pm me, any ideas please reply here.
thanks
tom

I guess I'll have a think. I've jacked in college now and thats the reason I wouldnt do it on the past.
Shane, do you think you'd be up for a joint thing? |

| LOL yeah, Brett was one of the few people I got to have a good chat with, he's a sound guy!
If you can manage not to get gagged or banned, then yeah probably a good idea you go for it, you seem to be good at organising events etc. |

| correct me if I'm wrong but what with most meets & stuff happening in the Exeter area I would have assumed it would be easier for someone from that neck of the woods to do it. I'm not taking anything away from Bretts abilities, he's well liked by all & approachable which is the main concern IMO.
He's been using the board for longer than most so is as good as anyone IMO.

| Why do you need to be from near exeter?
And in fact why do the meets need to happen in exeter anyway for that matter, surely anywhere in the region is ok within reason?
And cheddar isnt really a million miles away anyway |

| Exeter is central to this area, you get furthar south of Exeter and the journey becomes longer, due to the crap road network this end of the South West. Anyone from Cornwall would probably be put right off tbh. |

| I agree exeter is a good place, but it would still be nice to have a bit of variety, shame that the streetnights thing didnt take off, that would have been mint! |

| Yeah sure, not rally too much of an issue for us anyway, just thinking of others further south, although the summer will be hell along the Newton Road on a Sunday for anyone coming from Torbay. |

| Whenever there was talk of arranging this meet, it always seems to come back to being in Exeter & having it anywhere else was either not suitable or having the meets at random locations was not suitable.
I just think that when it comes to sorting karting & that kinda shizzle, it makes sense to have someone familiar with Exeter(ish) area arranging a function thats 95% certain to happen in the Exeter area. Sorry if common sense has been banned.
Thats the way I see it anyway. |

| Not sure how i managed to offend you enough for that common sense comment, but TBH in my mind if arranging karting, its likely to be done on the phone, so makes no odds where you are from, thats my logic anyway.
I agree that someone with NO knoledge of that part of the region might be a bad idea, but im not convinced that living in exeter is a job requirement. |

| To be fair Chip, Craig did'nt say in his last post that it should be someone who lives in Exeter, just someone who knows the area well, which does kinda make sense. But I'm sure whoever gets the role, would become gemed up with the area fairly soon, even if they arn't too familiar with it right this moment. |

| No offence, just me being flippant.
I know its a phone job (likely) but in order to know exact locations & or reccommend places etc I wouldnt want that responsibility. Maybe its cos Ive never been to a meet before down that way. Last meet I went to prior to yesterday was in Taunton. LOL
I'd do the co-ords role as Ive posted before, just I cant see what use I'd be if I'm arranging meets in an area where most peoples knowledge is far superior to mine. |

| PS
If anyone wants a meet location with guarenteed dry weather and a huge BBQ, let me know
Its near J23 of the M5 though so a little further up for the cornwall folks.
Easily enough room for 500 cars, 2000 if you were prepared to park bumper to bumper. |
