I won't be attending this as I feel Plymouth is too far south, and the ammount of time travelling will be more than the time at the meal.

If it was Exeter I would be there but Plymouth is just too far away.

ok Tony, shame you feel this way.

I apolagise to members for the location however in retrospect its not to bad really when you consider the region is as far south as lands end. Plymouth is about half hour further down A38 BTW.

I did drive to barnstaple recently, and it is a good 30 min drive to the motorway alone.

that said its a 45 min drive from my house to the junction you take for barnstaple.

Im keen to point out that actually its the Somerset esp me and joey crew who infact have the longest drive.

at the end of the day its a one off, not a permanent thing.

understand tonys reasoning about the baby though..

Owen,to get to Plymouth from up here is the best part of a 2 hour drive. There are 3 members within 8 miles of eack other and we all feel that it's too far to travel.
Also my partner is due to have a baby not long after the meal and I don't fancy having to rush back if she goes into labour.
Saying we should pull ourselves together is a load of ****ocks,by my reckoning 2 hours means that the people from North Devon will have the longest travelling time of any of the S.W. members.

I understand where you're coming from about people from Plymouth travelling upto Taunton but that's quite a bit less than for me to go to Plymouth.

You will never please everyone in any region......
Where ever you have a venue some one will winge about the distance...
Plymouth is a 2 1/2 hour drive at least for me and i've done it to go to events organised by Mike like the rolling road shootout i won car of the day at and a feature in Total Vauxhall mag,so it is worth the drive sometimes!!
The only reason i've moved region is to run the western region and i gotta drive a long way to go to the meetings that i've organised....

If you don't wanna go then either don't post whinging just don't bother to post or just say you can't attend......

This makes it easier for the region's co-ordinator to see who is coming and who ain't.......
