    Thumbs up

Just been emailed back by Grasshopper Inn:

    ----
    Dear Mr Rose
    RE: Sunday May 13th @ 2.00 pm
    Thank you for your email.
There is no problem with you visiting us and using our car park on the above date. Please can you advise your members to use the far end of the car park, to enable our restaurant customers to park nearer to the building.
Please can you email back with your telephone number for our records.
    Thanks Amanda
    ----

So we're on guys!! The time is 2pm - i will try and get there early so i am the first one there, so if your gonna be early, let me know by how much, and i'll make sure I'm there before you!!

Oh, and Big Nick - do you still wanna drive down there together? If so, do you know the petrol station just off the A2 near the Tollgate Inn? It's London bound, and just near the underpass over to Safeways on the other side. If it's okay with you, meet there at 1pm?

    Cheers guys

Sure thing Rob More the merrier - If you can get onto the M25, it's Junction 6 of the M25 - i'll sort out some more detailed directions and maybe a map either later tonight or tomorrow.

I'm gonna start ringing people next week too, see if we can get some more guys down.

    Hi Cris........

I know you don't have a problem with members from other areas popping down, but what about standard cars making an appearance??
I'm currently looking into the possibility of a new car....some time yet, if that falls through....then my car won't be standard!!
Wouldn't want to drag the quality of the cars down at the meet??!!??!!
Let me know.....if a standard car is a no-go, would people mind if I turned up with a friend in a F*rd Onion...it's slightly modded and wouldn't be parked near the quality motors!!??!!??

Popped in the Grasshopper today and the carpark was full of Skylines, and a few Ferraris. Seems the ideal place for a meet up.

Standard motors are fine mate, everyone's gotta start somewhere, and a lot of cars are nice standard. Mine wasn't. That's why it is the why it is now. But like Mavvs, it's damaged at the moment, and will be for another 2 months, then i get it sorted.

Come down mate, be good to meet you at last.

No not yet Vauxmaster. Been very busy and it hasn't been high on my list of priorities.

Plus I can't seem to get the gear knob off, which I assume you need to do to fit a new gaitor.

Vauxmaster, sure - i'll be at the Tollgate services London direction at 12:30 if you wanna meet me there. Big Nick, you still meeting me there????

Also, Vaux, where exactly do you live????

Ed, you don't have to take your gearknob off to get a new gaitor on, it should just pull off - if you do take the gearknob off, and it's a standard one, you ain't got a hope in hell of getting it back on again because they break!!

    Cool

    Cris,

    E-mailed u!

Ed Cris is right u don't have to take the gear knob off the new gaitor (vauxhall one) has a cable tie sewed into the top u position it on the lift reverse collet and pull up the cable tie, cut off the excess and ur done!

To remove the old one cut the cable tie when u have removed the gear stick from the centre console piece o p**s m8!

Sure thing Novanutta, I'll be expecting you (in a 16V Astra yes?), Vauxmaster and Big Nick at 12:30 at the Tollgate services...

I don't know about Oddball, I'll ask him about it, but he'll probably drive faster than my top speed knowing that manic petrolhead

Unfortunatly i've lost my member's list (damn it), so I'm not gonna be able to call any non-net members in time, but we should still have as good a turn out as last time.

    Confirmed are

    Cris Rose
    Novanutta
    Oddball
    Big Nick
    Ed
    Vauxmaster
    Mavvmad
    Rich Fairbrother
    Richard Bell (+1 maybe)
    Tom Stickland
    Robby D
    Tom Williams
    Dec (PNG)
    PandaPaws

Novanut and Leemay wanted to come, but couldn't make it unfortunatly

    See you all there!

Weeeell. I wont be meeting at the tollgate cause i'm gonna go A249 (wave at 3 squirrels) down M20, M26 then the A25 to the pub. The tollgate route is a bit of a scenic route detour for me, plus i will be getting up at 12.30, nightshift saturday you see

oh and p.s i hope you arent doing piccies this time chris, cause i aint washing my car, i'm trying to weather off the back to black before i paint the grey bits up. Paint seems to stick better if the surface is rained on for ages. Will of course run some thinners over it first, but you get my drift.

I have had so many probs with paint reacting to little smeggy bits of hidden turtle wax / back to black, that the prep work missed.

OK Odd, we won't be expecting you at the Tollgate then mate - have a good sleep. I will be taking photos, as a lot of people want them, but i'll make sure i don't take any particular ones of your motor.

As for the 20th, the weekend after, i will not be going to the PNG meeting unfortunatly, as i will be attending the airfield event at Hemmel Hempsted. Tom Williams has asked me to find out who from the SE Region wants to come up as well. There is space on the Mig Stand (where i will be) and it's £5 for members, £7.50 for non members. If you fancy coming allong, we'll meet up this side of London, probably at Dartford, and make our way round the M25 as it's the easiest way to get there.

If ya wanna join me, let me know here guys!! I'll pass the info onto Tom

Tom Williams will be there on Sudnay hopefully, although he is in Luton for a VBOA Meeting at 11:30am, and will make his way down afterwards.

    Hi Cris....

What time are you likely to be there until, just that I'm being forced to attend a family lunch!!!
It's early and up in Kelvedon (near Colchester)....so if I can I'll shoot down and say 'Hi'!!
If not....I'm definitely up for the next one, never know if James200ts and Mr Bank Manager can be co-operative, might even turn up with the green/blue 200ts that's featured around this bulletin board!!

Dave B, I'll get R Bell to call you.

Big Nick, if you could make it closer to 12:45pm than 1pm, as i'd like to get there about 1:30pm or before.

PandaPaws, it's gonna be a nice day so we may be there as late as 5pm, but it depends how long everyone wants to hang around for - that's 3 hours, though it may only last 2 hours.
