Can't help personally, but would be worth letting us know the problems. Some people may be happy to pop along and trouble shoot with you, but not rebuild a head... if you know what I mean.![]()
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
not asking any one to do a head gasket or anything like that just its revving to high and miss fireing and i dont know anuff about these redtops to know what it could be
Is it the dispack engine or distributor?
Are there any air leaks in the air trunking from the air filter to the SFI box (plays havoc with the Air Flow Meter if there is)
its distributor one i dont think so
Start the car and unplug the air flow meter and see if that changes anything.
and check wiring and connections to engine coolant sensor (CTS) as this can make the engine run like you described overrevving and overfuelling and have all your plug leads checked for any sparks jumping etc including dist cap as the HT could be arcing along and causing misfires, rich fuelling can faoul plugs and cause misfire as well which can be caused bby the CTS sensor or bad connections.

When i unplug the air mass sensor the revs drop but you go to put the throttle on and it dies
yes seems Ok as it would behave like that. but get CTS sensor checked, usually its wiring or poor connections that can cause engine revving high, if you have got a multimeter you can also check the sensor which should give you a cold engine reading of approx 2000 ohms or more and on hot engine the ohms reading should drop down to around 200 ohms, i.e. 10 fold change. But my guess is it is wiring or poor joints the issue, or loose connections.

what lose conections to the cts seinor or just lose conections in genral thanks ollie
