Sorry to hear this dude but try and cheer up if you can.

No fuel, MOT, tax or insurance bills for 6 months (a lot of £££)
No court case "hanging round your neck" anymore
No points on your licence in 6 months

Try and see it's not all bad news. You could possibly save up for a newer/nicer car in a lower insurance group? Astra Coupe 1.8 springs to mind.

Next time you drive your mum's car, try dressing up like your mum and down her gowan, use her lipstick, and buy a wig resembling your mum's hair style, and if you can mimic her voice also, you don't need any insurance, road tax, or even a car, you can drive her car and imagin if you were stopped as a suspect carrying weapons, the woman police officer stops you and frisks your body all over finds an object hidden in your underpants, calls up for a back up on her radio " Romeo 2 come in" " delta one Charlie suspect with hidden weapon of unlknown distiction over" about 6 inches getting bigger over" ....a little later ...Romeo 2 come in ...female suspect with hidden weapon now 10" and still growin over" (hope this would cheer you a liitle)

Ahh **** Steve, was it you had the extension on your insurance but cos you work in the motortrade it voids it?

Least ull have sometime to fix the rust on the astra and get it sorted for the track session at traxs again.

Bummer about the 6 months, but i've been charged more than £210 for one speeding offence. Seems like they've hit you hard with the ban, and gone easy on the fine.

How long have u had ur license Stevenwoodie??

Im up at court on the 18th of Feb for the same offence(well not driving my mums car but having no insurance, dont judge me tho as i have a genuine reason)

Im on 6 points already so gonna be looking at a ban too but i dont think itl be as long as 6months as ive been driving for 6 years so should get it a bit easier.
Gonna ask for a bigger fine instead of getting banned.

right mate i have had my licence for 11 years on the 3rd march and i think the only way you will not get a huge ban is if you can prove you will have severe hardship i.e losing employment!!!

i certainly wouldn't judge you mate we all do things for a reason

You could ring your insurance company and tell explain to them your circumstences and they may be able to suspend your policy instead of cancelling it, on the other hand if the ban is for a short period you may live it out to prevent insurance company declining to suspend and instead cancel your policy, even if they do you do not loose your ncb for a good two years.
