New Pub Meet Location Needed Ideas

Hi all

We need to find a new Location for the monthly meets,

Whiteley was good but the car park was too small
and Rownhams got invaded by Saxos last meet

so do you know of any good pubs with big car parks and easy to get to.

so far I have

Being selfish Running Horse gets my vote if the space is suitable.

Thinking of areas to meet are we looking around the Winchester / Romsey area? Or a wider area?

Seems a shame followining the sucess of the last meet to now move venues. and the Saxos wern't really a threat, just something to laugh about!

Mayfly gets busy on a Sunday, esp in the summer and the carpark isnt very big.

Problem with Pubs is not many of us go in the pub, we are happy to talk bollocks in the car park. We need a beauty spot rather than a pub IMO.

But I feel No-one wants to stay around longer then an hour and if its raining, its even less.

How about we meet at Rowhams then move on to a pub?

Maybe a beauty spot is what we need, however if the weather if going to be bad then people won't want to hang around for long.

I agree the meet a week ago was a success however it was miserable and wet and people like corsadonk do have a hike to get there (although salisbury plain is a bit of fun if the weather is right!)

you shud have one near me so people in the club in yorkshire don't have to travel miles there's one near me in swinton there's a big car park next door swinton train station its always empty you could fit over 150 cars on it no one bovers you

i have to confess the saxos did scare me pmsl !!!! is there not a pub chandlers ford somewhere ???? i agree with a beauty spot but if it rains its brolly time , salisbury plain good too , i think somewhere central might be ok but depends on who is a region and the furthest out if u get what i mean , its a 85 mile round trip for me and corsadonk must be thinking about a hotel for the night lol

Crikes, we cant have it any closer to my gaff i thought! car park is better west bound iirc.

I have been to many a pub now, between the coast and winchester way and cant recall anywhere better suited to our needs than where we are now. In the name of research I shall keep checking them out when I can.
Fact is our area is rather large, so its a fair old drive for many keen visitors, which is a shame.

I think West meon is the wrong way, we don't have any members that way. So we'd lose people some the other way.

We want some where really around the start of the M3, prob looking at it they are all small country pubs.

I still think the Vine would be a good place, i'm on the 200SX owns forum at the Mo pming their RC, too find out if they still hold a meet there..

As what we want is some where close to the motorway (for ease) and kinda in the middle.. Nice big car park..

I think Bulford Proving Ground needs investigating. I stumbled across it on a BMW forum about a year ago. Its located between Andover and Salisbury.

I PM'd the guy that posted about it asking if you had to ask permission to use the private land, he came back with this:

Yeah that's the place mate - i've been there a couple of times for small meets and we've never asked permission. It's used by the police and army for testing but it's an open ground. Like i said, i've never asked permission and never had a problem. I've seen people messing around these that have just turned up. I don't think they care as long as they're not using it. I've always gone on a Sunday, whether that relevant i don't know. Are you local to Bulford then, ill meet you up there one weekend.

Car park is huge there dude. Me and Sharon looked at it before. I've now pm'ed the rc over the 200sx forum 4times, prick never replys.
